Obituary of Norman Thomas Calvert Jr.

Please share a memory of Norman to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Norman Thomas Calvert Jr (75), passed away peacefully in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Monday, May 1st 2023. Norman was a loving father, grandfather, brother, godfather, and friend to many.

Norman was born in Clifton, NJ and grew up in Hopatcong, then later made his way to Orlando, Florida until finally settling in Tennessee. He had many exciting occupations including a machinist. He was a God loving man who loved gospel music.

Norman was always a funny man, he could make anyone laugh and smile. He had a kind heart and would give anything he had to those in need. He had a lot of love for Elvis; his most memorable trip was to Graceland. He got to share the legend he loved so much with his family. Norman also loved antique cars and ending the day with a banana split. But, above all, he loved his beautiful grandchildren.

Norman’s memory will live on through his loving children Salimeh (Timothy) Jackson and Michael Calvert and their mother Nawal Ayli. His sweet grandchildren Annabelle and Mary Jackson, and Amira, Elias, and Steven Calvert, as well as his loving brother, Thomas (Danielle) Calvert, brother in law Emile (Brenda) Ayli, sisters in law Amal (Chafic) Ezzeddine, Sonia Ayli, and Nada (Elias) Habib as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Although we are deeply saddened by his loss he rejoices with his son Norman Calvert III in heaven, his parents Norman Calvert Sr. and Anna Calvert, his siblings Anna Ayli-Lees and Ransel Calvert.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 12th, 2023 from 10AM-1PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Entombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park Mausoleum, East Hanover. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Norman here to continue to celebrate the special life he bestowed upon us.
