Obituary of George Henry Nagel
George Henry Nagel passed away tranquilly with his heart full of unconditional love and true peace on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center. He had shared 97 years of pure joy, infectious laughter, dedicated service and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Born to the late John and Mae Nagel, George and his siblings, John and Betty, were raised in Cliffside Park. After graduating High School, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. George then went on to proudly serve our country in the United States Navy in World War II. Upon his Honorable Discharge, he was a hard and dedicated worker. He married his soulmate and best friend, Josephine (Militello) in 1955 and the rest is history. The happy couple settled into Little Falls and began a family of their own. George was a smart man; he owned and operated George Nagel Associates, an engineering design company, for many years before retirement.
George was patient and kind. He was a man of faith and family. He was our Patriarch, confidant, and everyone’s “Uncle George.” He was a one-of-a-kind gentleman that will be sorely missed and forever treasured. He leaves only joyful memories to his adored son, Drew; cherished granddaughter, Brooke; and many more dear extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28th from 3 – 7 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 10 am St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 24 Changebridge Rd, Montville. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of George here to continue to celebrate his incredible life, and to let his light shine on.
