We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Eleanor Fichtner, who passed away peacefully in her home on April 1st, 2023. Eleanor was a loving and kind woman and will be sorely missed.

Eleanor was born to her parents, Raymond and Mary, in Clifton, New Jersey, in 1927. She was raised in Clifton and went on to attend college. After her husband Harry's military service, Eleanor and Harry settled in Denville to raise their family. Eleanor was a dedicated mother and loved her children and dogs immensely.

For most of her career she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone before it transitioned to Verizon. Most of all, Eleanor was a homemaker and she loved spending time with her children. In her free time, she loved to knit, read, and bake. She was also a founding member of the Orthodox Christian Church of the Holy Trinity, where she attended for many years. Eleanor will be remembered as a caring friend and loving mother forever.

Her memory will be carried by her survivors including her sons, Kurt Fichtner and his wife Susan, Kenneth Fichtner, Keith Fichtner, and her grandsons, Ben and David. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers in this trying time.
