Obituary of Isabelle C. Egberts

Please share a memory of Isabelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Isabelle C. Egberts passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023 at Morris View Healthcare Center in Morristown. She had shared 89 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born and raised in Morristown, Isabelle was one of three children to bless their household. She graduated from Morristown High School, Class of 1951. She married her best friend, Robert F. Egberts, in 1953. The happy couple settled into Denville to raise a family of their own. Isabelle thrived when her family was together. She was the Matriarch that held everyone together; especially when her daughter passed in 1985 and her husband in 1996. A hard worker, she dedicated 26 years to Special Additions in Denville as their Secretary and Bookkeeper prior to retirement in 2002. Isabelle always wanted to retire to California and in 2002, she moved to Santee, CA. She was always true to her word. Despite all her hardships through this rollercoaster we call life, she had a consistent smile on her face. She was a feisty firecracker with no filter. Endearingly given the nickname of “Mayor” anywhere she went, Isabelle never met a stranger. She was the life of the party, constantly with a good joke up her sleeve. She will be forever missed and treasured in our hearts and memories.

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Robert, and her dear daughters, Lynn D. O’Dell and Carol Molinaro. She leaves only joyful memories to her kind son-in-law, Mark (Patricia) O’Dell, cherished grandchildren, Vincent Perkoski, Denise (Jake) Jelliffe, Mark (Gillian) O’Dell, and Ryan (Francine) O’Dell; her loving great-grandchildren, Tyler Perkoski, Gracie Kuhl, Blake Perkoski, Dean Kuhl, Eva and George O’Dell, and Francis and James O’Dell; her caring sister, Sandra McGowan; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

All services will be private. In lieu of flowers and in Isabelle’s memory, please take part in one of her most favorite activities; have a glass of wine! Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Isabelle here to continue to let her light shine on.
