Ida “Betty” E. (Baldo) Ruiz was born on October 2, 1925 in her parents home located in the Cedar Lake section of Denville. Betty passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023 in Lewes, Delaware. She enjoyed the beauty and the nature of the lake for 87 years. Betty and her husband Manuel “Manny” enjoyed the activities and the social life the community offered.

 

Betty retired from the Township of Denville in 1987 in the position of Purchasing Agent, after 18 years of service. She was very active with the Denville Senior Groups and was even President several times. She loved reading mystery books and enjoyed cruising with her friends. Betty had a passion for wildlife and nature and loved sitting outside talking with neighbors. She adored all of her loving pets through the years. Betty was a feisty, spirited, independent woman and will be missed.

 

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Manuel Ruiz in 2000, her siblings Richard Baldo of Randolph, and Edith Stone of Rockaway, and her son-in-law, Michael Saxe in 2020. Betty is survived by her daughters, Susan E. Ruiz and Karen E. Saxe, both of Lewes, DE. She is also survived by her nephew George Stone and his wife Carolyn and their son Brian, whom she adored; and her grandchildren, Scott (Robin) of Livingston, TX, Cherin (Kim) of Weaverville, NC, and Adam (Tina) of Savannah, GA.

 

Public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24th from 10 am – 12 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover.
