I remember Mrs. Kelly as a very creative and talented art teacher. She was kind and pleasant and encouraged her students to behave well and make beautiful things. She was very creative and the students loved her. Mrs. Kelly will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Kelly was such a reprieve in my education; her talent and mentorship were so refreshing. She was such an inspiration. Add Mrs. Windish's talent to our talent productions and they were a pair who could not be beat. Rest well Mrs. Kelly.

The Wrede family sends their most heartfelt condolences to Skip. Mrs. Kelly was our mother’s best friend and travel buddy. Our mom, Marge Wrede, had such fond memories working at the National Parks together, spending time in Chincoteague, spending time at the Jersey Shore, and camping throughout the country. Mrs Kelly was an awesome teacher and great family friend.

Barbara did the very best pen and ink sketches of Denville. As I sit here there are many drawings on our wall. Most of the original buildings have been renovated or torn down. The Denville BOE has her pictures on their entrance wall. I will always remember her in our "Circle" with jokes and laughter. She was special.

I just have to look at my wall and see the silhouette of both of my sons and I think of Barbara. She did these with the K or 1st grade kids every year. I treasure these and all the wonderful projects they brought home from her class. She was special to so may of the Denville families. From my sons, John and Timothy and myself I want to say Thank you and she will always have a place in my heart. Wonderful teacher.

Q: What was Barbara really good at?
A: Barbara was a great neighbor going to miss chatting and her wonderful pies she made us. We became family living nextdoor and she made it easy for us to love her. Wishing Skipper family and friends the warmest hugs and prayers with her loss.

I grew up living across the street from Mrs. Kelly, and kid sitting for her son, Skip. I haven’t seen either of them in years, but I have wonderful memories of both of them. She looks so tiny in these pictures! When she and I interacted back in the 60s and 70s, she was a force of nature, a force for good and goodness to be reckoned with. Sleep well, Mrs. Kelly. There are a lot of little kids who remember how much you taught them all those years. You deserve the rest for giving so much of yourself to all those kids.

Barbara will be missed by us.
We all will miss you, Barbara. We had so much fun with you next door to us at Trails End Campground, fishing, crabbing, and eating together. We have fond memories of OES, going to Barn Theater and just being friends. You taught us so much about nature through your artwork and photography. We are blessed to have known you.

Skipper, I am so very sorry to hear of Barbara’s passing. She was one of the Camping Crew in Chincoteague along with my parents, Don and Carol Gladden. I’ve several of her tiny paintings of wildlife on Assateague she gifted my mom and dad over the years. I’ve fond memories of her teaching my kids how to make s’mores and playing miniature golf. She will be missed. ❤️

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Kelly passing Her endless patience and kindness throughout my days as her student at Riverview (MANY years ago) will always be etched in my heart and mind. Her artistic talent and teaching abilities have stayed with me throughout the years,as she was one of those teachers that her students just don't forget. I wish Skippy and her family much peace with the knowledge she was such an inspiration to so many of us.

I can still remember learning to paint water colors in
Riverview School from Mrs. Kelly. In later years she painted three commissions for us and I have another water color she did of the Denville train station. A very talented lady. Rest in eternal spring.

There are so many stories about your mom's life journey. Barbara's art talent, zest for life, passion for golf and unique Denville personality created memories that will live on.
