Obituary of Maureen Ann Scheuermann

Please share a memory of Maureen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Maureen Ann Scheuermann passed away peacefully in Summit, NJ on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the age of 83. Maureen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be missed dearly.

Maureen was born on July 25, 1939, to the late Joseph and Jean Verdi, Newark, NJ.  She raised her family in Irvington, then later moved to Millburn where she resided for nearly 40 years. In her profession, she was a loyal employee of Jeffrey Matthews Financial Group where she retired from her position as compliance assistant in 2019. Maureen, before and after retirement always made time for her family. She loved spending time with each and every one of them as much as she could. She made it a tradition that every Saturday the whole family would come together at her home for family dinner. Some of her fondest memories were of spending time with her family, not just locally but at Chadwick Beach, NJ. While there, her first stop would be at Wawa for a coffee then kite flying with her grandkids on the beach.  Maureen loved some good entertainment her favorites were The Godfather, Jeopardy, but most importantly the NY Mets. She had a creative eye and would go to garage sales looking for treasures. Her next favorite project was bringing old furniture back to life.

Maureen's memory will live on through her daughters Debra (Joe) Velocci of Stuart, Florida, Susan (Jeffery) Curry of Rockaway, NJ, and Judith Scheuermann of Millburn, NJ and her loving grandchildren Joseph, Anthony (Kelly), Gina, and James. Her memory will also live on through her sweet great-grandchildren Lorenzo, Adrianna, and Bianca. Along with many loving nieces and nephews. Maureen is predeceased by her devoted husband, Neil Scheuermann of 30 years, her sister Rose Lee and her brothers Anthony and Joseph Verdi.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 10 AM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Entombment will follow at St. Stephens Mausoleum, 451 Millburn Ave, Millburn, NJ.
