Obituary of Lindsey Gayle Provost

Please share a memory of Lindsey to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lindsey Gayle Provost passed away peacefully after a courageous health battle for nearly 10 years, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. She had shared 73 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and unforgettable memories with family and friends.

Born in Passaic, Lindsey was raised in Garfield and Clifton. She graduated from Clifton High School, class of 1967. After graduating, she attended Secretarial School and became a Secretary for Jay Kislak Realty. She married her best friend, Norman L. Provost, in 1970. They found their forever home in Denville and settled in to raise a family of their own. Before retiring in 2009, Lindsey worked for Littleton School in Parsippany for 28 years.

Lindsey broke the mold when she was born. She attended all of her children’s sporting events their entire life. She always put others and their feelings and needs before her own. She was a firecracker and you could count on her to tell you the truth about any situation. Her home was always warm and inviting. With any spare time, you could find Lindsey outdoors, especially at Gardner Field. Norman was a member of Peace Pipe Country Club and Lindsey made many friends spending time there for dinner. Also with her sweetheart, she enjoyed their annual vacation to Jamaica, which began in the 1980’s!

Lindsey will be forever missed and treasured in our hearts and memories. We will never forget the feeling of joy and pure happiness she brought into our lives. The next time you hear Michael Jackson, please turn it up and know Lindsey is shining down, smiling, and dancing with you! Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.

She leaves only joyful memories to her beloved husband of 52 years, Norm; her adored children, Jeffrey Provost and his wife Krista and Courtnee Provost; her cherished grandchildren, Kashmyne, Justin, Jaylene, Emma, Lánya, Gabby, Nina, Courtnee, and Kenyon; her caring Aunt Helen (the late Ed) Janus; her loving cousins, Karen and Gayle; and many other extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial Donations are being accepted in her memory to Fresenius Kidney Care Da Of Northern New Jersey, 2200 State Rt 10, Ste 107, Parsippany, New Jersey 07054. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, or share your favorite memory of Lindsey here to continue to celebrate her incredible life.
