Obituary of Beverly E. Halgren

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beverly E. Halgren, of Succasunna, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. She had shared 67 years of love, laughter, and fond memories with family and friends.

Born in Orange to the late Peter and Evelyn Holmstedt, Bev was raised in Denville and graduated from Morris Knolls High School in 1973. Her career with the NJ Department of Labor Divison of Vocational Rehabilitation spanned over 40 years before retirement in 2021. In her capacity of administrative support she was noted for her cordiality and helpfulness. She met the love of her life, Peter Halgren, at the Department of Labor offices in Morristown. Bev and Pete married in 1982 and lived in Randolph before finding their forever home in Succasunna. They enjoyed taking vacations to explore the country, particularly the Pacific Northwest. Over the years Bev made quite a hobby with collectible dolls and figurines.

Although we are deeply saddened by Bev’s passing, we can take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her parents and sisters, Barbara Kays and Geraldine Matarazzo. She leaves joyful memories to her beloved husband, her loving nieces and nephews, Jean Messina, Ellen Talimci, Sharon Imgrund, Dennis Leonard, Daniel Leonard, Andrew Matarazzo, and Peter Matarazzo and many dear great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves fond memories to her extended family and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11th from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, November 12th at 10 am at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 90 Church Street, Rockaway. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
