Obituary of Anna C. Galizia

Anna C. Galizia nee Sanzero passed away at her home in Rockaway Twp., NJ surrounded by her family on October 31st, 2022, at the age of 90.

Born in Scranton, PA in November 1931, Anna grew up with her older sister Caroline and brother Nicholas and parents Joseph & Magdalena Sanzero. In 1958, Anna married her lifelong love Raymond M. Galizia. The pair lived in Lyndhurst, NJ with their two children Carmel & Raymond. In 2010, Anna moved to Rockaway Twp.,NJ where she made many friends and enjoyed spending time as a member of the Italian club and Treasurer of the Jewish Club. She loved to watch soap operas or (her programs as she called them).

Anna worked as a secretary for Ebasco in Lyndhurst for many years before retiring in 1994 to spend more time with her growing family of grandchildren. She loved to crochet, play sudoku & solitaire, and keep in touch with her friends and family through Facebook.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Raymond M. Galizia in 2010.

Anna is survived by her loving children Carmel Rodriguez of Roxbury, NJ and Raymond D. Galizia and his wife Lisa Galizia of Wayne, NJ, her grandchildren Cristina Rodriguez, Brittany and her husband Daniel Schneider, Nicholas and his wife Nicole Galizia and Nate Rodriguez, as well as her great grandchildren Aubrianna, Siena, Dominic & Luca. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 3, 2022, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 4, at 10:00AM at St. Cecilia’s 90 Church St. Rockaway, NJ 07866. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum 340 Ridge Road North Arlington, NJ 07031.
