Obituary of Catherine Mary Ryaness

Please share a memory of Catherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Catherine Mary Ryaness (nee Moylan) passed away surrounded by family in Morristown, New Jersey on October 20th, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Catherine was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. There she graduated Lincoln High School class of 1957. Shortly after high school she started working at the age of 17 for JP Morgan in New York City. Eddie and Catherine moved to Denville, NJ in 1970 and lived in the Rock Ridge Community since. After being a loyal employee to JP Morgan for 37 years, she retired in 1994 and then she got to do what she truly loved, spend more time with her family. Before and after retirement Catherine always managed to keep in touch with her lifelong friends. Her guilty pleasures were her daily crossword puzzles and dark chocolate, that of course she would always share. Catherine was selfless and always took care of others before herself. She was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Parish, and always kept others in her prayers.

Catherine’s legacy will forever live on through her devoted husband, Edward; her loving daughter, Mary (Michael) Ferrone; her cherished grandchildren, Siena and Nathan; her caring siblings, Anastasia (Dan) Sweet, Margaret (the late Robert) Weber, Mary (Jeremiah) Mullins, Thomas (AnnMarie) Moylan, Melody Moylan, Patricia (Keith) Tanner; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

When she arrived at Heaven's gates, she was greeted by her parents Edward and Mary Moylan and her brother Edward Moylan.
