Obituary of George Elias Mascobi

George Elias Mascobi passed away in his home in Denville, NJ surrounded by his loving family on October 4, 2022, at the age of 84.

Born in Jerusalem, Israel. He lived for many years in Bergenfield, NJ before moving to Stroudsburg, PA for 10 years and then to the Cedar Lake in Denville, NJ for the past 7 years.

George worked for many years as a Tailor, working for Chalvar and Nordstom in Paramus, NJ before going to work for himself.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Vera (Kouttab) Mascobi in 2020, as well as his siblings Anton, and Afram and Mariam.

George is survived by his loving son’s Elias and his wife Michelle Mascobi, Suleiman Mascobi, and Issa Mascobi and Zahya Mascobi. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicholas, Valarie, Melanie, Savanna and George Mascobi, and his siblings Jurjet, Lahdo, Aziz, Violet and Antoinette.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 7, 2022, at 12:30PM at St. Mark’s Syrian Orthodox Church 55 West Midland Avenue Paramus, NJ 07652.  Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park  234 Paramus Road Paramus, NJ 07652 under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.
