Obituary of Gertrude M. Hausmann

Gertrude M. (Horlbeck) Hausmann passed away at Morristown Medical Center on August 24, 2022, at the age of 95.

Born in Union City she had grown up in Ridgewood and had lived in Harrison for 32 years before moving to Effort, PA where she lived for 22 years until moving to Rockaway Twp., NJ 10 years ago.

Gertrude worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years at the Lutheran Home in Jersey City, NJ before retiring in 1990.

She was an avid reader and quilter.  She also loved to play Bingo and Rummikub.

She loved to sing and sang in the church choir at St. John’s in Harrison and Our Savior Church in Mt. Pocono, PA.  She was very church oriented and belonged to many church organizations most recently at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Mt. Lakes, NJ.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Reverend Dr. William J. Hausmann in 2015.  She is survived by her loving children Susan and her husband Richard Koeberle of Rockaway, NJ and Peter and his wife Michele Hausmann of Washington, NJ.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Nicholas Galofaro/ Justina Colon and their son Kayden, Christopher and his wife Kimberly Hausmann, Alyssa Hausmann and Gregory Galofaro, and her siblings Ralph and his wife Shirley Horlbeck of Muncy, PA and Charlotte Preston of Duke Center, PA.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 26, 2022 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.  Funeral Services will take place on Saturday August 27, at 10:00AM at King of Kings Lutheran Church  145 US 46 Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046.  Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery 501 Prospect St. East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
