Obituary of Frances J. Butler
Frances J. Butler passed away on August 8, 2022, at VNA Hospice in Dover, NJ, at the age of 89.
Born on June 26, 1933, Frances was raised in the Bronx, NY. She came to New Jersey in 1960, living in Westwood and Fair Lawn before moving to Rockaway where she raised her family. After retirement she moved to the Brookfield section of Belvidere, NJ.
Frances Fimmano was recruited right out of high school to work for American Telephone and Telegraph Company in Manhattan. She worked there for several years and during that time enjoyed many trips with her friends to the Poconos, Atlantic City, Miami, FL and more. It was during a trip to Miami where she met her future husband, Donald Butler. Frances later worked part time as an aide at Dover Christian Nursing home and then for Visiting Homemakers of Morris County while raising her family. She genuinely cared for each one of her patients. Always the caregiver, her entire life.
She and Don enjoyed many winters in Deerfield Beach after retirement. They were married 57 years before he passed in 2017.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald J. Butler, and her loving son Robert Butler, as well as her brother Joseph Fimmano and his wife Connie.
Frances is survived by her loving children Donna M. and her husband Stephen Young of Naples, FL, John F. Butler and his wife Ashley of Forest Hill, MD, Maureen and her husband Thomas Overko of Belvidere, NJ, Ellen and her husband Greg Martire of Long Valley, NJ, and Kathleen Butler of Alexandria, VA. Her grandchildren; Ryan Young and wife Jeannine, Shane Young, Dallas Overko & wife Lauren, Taylor, Riley, Bailey, Harley, Honey and Andi Overko, Kyle and Erin Martire, Madison, Jack, Savannah and Emma Butler also survive her as well as her great grandchildren, August and Eleanor Vinti, Austin Overko and Hazel Overko, and her brothers Frank Fimmano and wife, Georgianna, Anthony Fimmano and wife Joanne, and her sister in-law Barbara Butler as well as many nieces and nephews.
