Obituary of Paul Anthony Lesniewski
Paul Anthony Lesniewski passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He had shared 87 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY to Stefan and Anna Lesniewski, he was the only son of four children to bless their household. He graduated from vocational technical high school before proudly serving our country in the United States Air Force. While in the USAF, he met Florette “Flo” Merli. Introduced by her brother Wayne (also in the USAF), they began a two year, long distance courtship. They married on July 29, 1961. Paul and Florette settled into the Lake Arrowhead section of Denville in 1966, and have remained there ever since. In Lake Arrowhead, Paul was a very active member of the Lake Arrowhead community. He volunteered many hours cleaning and restoring the lake, grounds and clubhouse in addition to helping prepare for annual festivities. He was an active horseshoe player for many years and a member of the “Old Timers’” club. Paul was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a very smart and self-educated man. When something on the car or around the house needed to be done, Paul would fix it, no matter what was broken or needed attention. He truly was the salt of the earth, a pure soul. When Paul wasn’t spending time with family, helping others, or making repairs, you could find him tinkering with vintage radios, the television or watching war movies. Paul will be forever missed and treasured in our hearts. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Florette, his parents, and sisters, Martha, Angelina, and Jennie.
Left to continue his legacy of kindness and dedication are his loving children, Stephen Paul Lesniewski and his wife Jan Chi-Ying of Warren, NJ and Anne Catherine Fantini of Easton, PA; his cherished grandchildren, Abbigael and Benjamin; and many more extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Paul here to continue to celebrate the incredible life he bestowed upon us.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Paul Lesniewski's honor to Atlantic Visiting Nurse (465 South Street, Suite 100, Morristown, NJ 07960).
