To The Foleys; I only recently learned of Helen's passing from asking Claire in private how her mom is. I didn't see the announcement last year due to having had eye surgery and I was having a hard time post-op. Bob, Don, Susie, Claire, Lynn, and your entire family, words cannot adequately impart the sadness in my heart over Helen's passing, and the depth of your loss. Those of us who you all grew up with share your loss with you, as we are all a big Rock Ridge Lake family together. I vividly remember my mom Lucy dropping me and my now late kid brother Mike off to Helen to babysit us countless times. Helen was 1 of my nurses @ St. Claire's when I had my tonsils taken out as a little tike. Helen was a 2nd mom to so many of us. I last spoke to her in 1997 during an overnight stop in Parsippany, en route to my home in N.H. at that time. Helen picked up the phone and it was like we had never lost touch at all over the years. She invited me to visit her at the house anytime. I cherish every memory of her. She was 1 of the biggest blessings from God that none of us ever saw coming. My Foley brothers and sisters, I love you all. May God continue to bless and strengthen each of you, and may all of us continue to enjoy our incredible memories of Helen, and be comforted in the fact that she is now rejoined with her beloved Harry & Jeannie in His Paradise. ~ Bob Douglas

To the entire Foley family,
It’s hard to imagine how quick time passes! Your mom was like a second mother to me, I have spent many nights and days in and around the Foley house! Memories can help the pain and heartache when you lose someone so special, but keep them in your heart and they live on.
God bless her soul and know that such a wonderful person is now at peace and rest!
Love to you all!

Dear Lynn and all of Helen's Family,
I was so sorry to hear about your mom. And I am so grateful for the chance to know her. What a bright light! I literally can't say "Helen Foley" without smiling. She always made my day better. Her being elected Class President in Nursing School makes total sense. I would have followed her anywhere -- her pragmatism, optimism, quiet self-assuredness and, of course, her sense of humor. Hmmmm... who does that remind me of?
You will be on my mind in the days to come. There is no escaping the sadness, but I hope you find some comfort in both her optimism -- recognizing that it won't always feel this way, and in the knowledge of how very well-loved your mom was, a bright light to so many.
Love, Donna (Parkinson) Savitt

Dear Foley family- Bobby, Donald, Jeanne, Susanne, Claire and Lynn,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was mom to all of us Schleicher's as well as to the rest of Rock Ridge Lake kids and most likely beyond. So many wonderful memories of growing up near the Foley family - with Helen at the center. For me it continued as a participant in the Denville health clinics with your mom as the nurse, giving out her expert advise to a very young mother of three and then casually seeing her around and about.
I hope the sweet memories of your mom help to ease the pain of loss. She lived a good, long life and I am glad I recently had the opportunity to visit with her.
Hugs and prayers -
Blair Schleicher Wilson

Dear Foley family. I wish to extend my sincere condolences to all of you. I worked with Helen for many years at Denville Municipal. Her office was right across the hall from mine and we shared many good chats on our breaks or lunch hour. Many years later I would see her on occasion at St. Catherine's in Mountain Lakes, and stop in for a visit when walking from Hillview to Whaleback to Canyon. She was always a good and sincere person and a lot of fun; she will be missed. Sincerely, Betty Hardy
