Obituary of Kenneth W. Charles

Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kenneth W. Charles passed peacefully on July 7, 2022 following complications from a stroke.  He shared 77 years of love with his family.  Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13 from 3pm to 6pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville. A Funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 14 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Denville Cemetery. Donations in his name may be made to the good work of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation Center or St. Joseph’s Indian School.

Kenneth was born to the late Charles and Gladys in 1944. He was raised in Denville and after his schooling he settled down and had a son, Kenny.  He lived in NC and after the tragic demise of his beloved son, he was transferred to London where he unexpectedly met Fusun Dulger. With Fusun came three children and altogether they breathed new life into Kenneth.  They headed back to the United States and made their home in NJ, first in Millington, and then Denville.

Kenneth loved living on the lake and spending all the time he could outdoors.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter which he enjoyed with his family and friends.  He also loved playing golf with his best friend Bruce.  He was humble, gentle, kindhearted, and always a true gentleman.  He was fortunate to travel extensively with Fusun and enjoyed life, diving and nature together.  He retired from CSX after many years of dedicated service.  He was actively involved in the Cedar Lake Community for many years as a volunteer.  Although we are saddened by his passing, we know Kenneth is rejoicing being reunited with his beloved Kenny.

Predeceased by his son Kenny; he leaves his wife Fusun (nee Dulger); his stepchildren Lale, Gonzalo and Pia; his step grandchildren; his dear sister Nancy Williams; his nephews Tom and Jeffrey and many more dear relatives, friends and neighbors.
