Dear Steve: From "The Celtic Farewell"
May choirs of angels lead you into Paradise
And may the martyrs come to welcome you
And lead you home into the holy city
Where you may dwell in New Jerusalem.
May holy angels be there at your welcoming
With all the saints who go before you there
And may you know the peace and joy of Paradise
And may you enter into everlasting rest.
The tune is "Danny Boy". God rest you, Steve. With love, Kathy

Steve...gone entirely too soon. I've known Steve since I was 10 and he was 12, my first "guy" friend. Our friendship endured a million ups and downs and yet we persevered! His smile and laugh were infectious and he never failed to cheer me up. We shared a love for music and movies and discussed both ad nauseum over the years. He took me to my first concert (David Bowie at MSG in 1974! Yikes) and we attended many more after that. I will never hear Bowie or Edwin Starr and not smile because of Steve. Always in my heart my friend

Stephen, like my sister, Patti, your wife, you both left too soon. May you find eternal peace in the heavens above. With prayers, Meg

My name is Ilan and I knew Steve for many years. We first met when he became a customer of mine at Fat Moose Comics. We bonded over comics and eventually found out we both shared a deep appreciation for music and movies as well. It’s no surprise we became friends and hung out together, a lot of the time in Steve’s music and comic filled home.
I met Pat of course and Taylor and Paige as well. His love for Pat and his daughters knew no bounds. Steve was always stoic in dealing with his diabetes and having been diagnosed myself last September, I am truly amazed at how well he persevered and fought through it all these years. I know Steve wanted only the best for his daughters, especially after Pat passed away. I could hear the heartbreak in his voice when he told me she had died.
I’m certain Steve is looking down on Taylor and Paige from Heaven and watching over them.
Steve was a really good friend and I’ll always miss him. I can only hope that when it’s my time to go, I’ll get to see Steve again and we can pick up right where we left off.

Where to begin? I’ve known Steve since we were both 12 years old and his family moved around the corner from mine. How many people can say they’ve had a close friend for over 50 years? But I was blessed to have Steve in my life that long. Special days, or just regular ones, we would spend together. Steve or I would call at least once a week, sometimes more often. We’d share what was going on in our lives. I saw both of his beautiful daughters when they were only a day or two old. On holidays, I could always count on Steve to be the first one to call me. Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, whatever. Steve would impatiently wait until he thought it was late enough in the morning that he wouldn’t wake me. Then my phone would ring. Little things like finding the Frank Frazetta art museum brought special joy to share with him. I’ve lost count of how many movies we saw together, usually with a nice meal either before or afterwards. And seeing the joy on his face when I gave him his 60th birthday gift, a special piece by one of his favorite artists. So many good times shared together. I’ll miss Steve for the rest of my earthly life.

A music lover, movie enthusiast, comic-book superhero aficionado & always eager to learn more.
Steve’s love for his family & friends was felt in the happy energy shared together during special celebrations or casual times hanging out. Steve & his beautiful wife Pat loved people & hosting parties, including hosting a neighborhood New Year’s Eve party only days after moving to their new home in Oak Ridge with their family of toddler, Paige & 1 baby on the way, Taylor. Steve was always a kid at heart. His excited anticipation of holidays especially Christmas & Halloween was contagious.
I’m richly blessed for the many marvelous memories we shared. Steve, you are dearly missed and forever on our hearts.
I also want to send my love & prayers to Steve’s family, especially his cherished daughters and his beloved mom.
Love always, Tina
