Obituary of Donald A. Swanson
Donald A. Swanson passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Florham Park. He had shared 95 years of priceless wisdom, unconditional love, and infectious laughter with family and friends.
Born and raised in New Haven, CT to the late Carl and Lillian Swanson, he was one of four sons to bless their household. After graduating High School, Donald proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his Honorable Discharge, Donald went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University. He made a successful career for himself with Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company working in sales, marketing, and finance during his 35 years of service before retiring in 1991. He was an amazing husband, father, friend and man who will be sorely be missed.
He leaves only joyful memories to his daughter, Karen Swanson; his caring brother, Ken Swanson and his wife Joan; and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
All services will be private. Donald will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Mary at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester. Memorial Donations are being accepted to the Market Street Mission by way of www.inmemof.org to ensure receipt of your donation.
