Obituary of Thomas Jay Feeheley
Thomas Jay Feeheley went home to Heaven to be with his beloved wife and son on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville. He had shared 95 years of honor, trust, and respect with acquaintances, friends, and family.
Born and raised in Saginaw, MI to the late Vincent and Margaret Feeheley, Thomas was one of three children to bless their household. After graduating High School, Thomas proudly served our country in the United States Army, serving as Private of the 519th Military Police Battalion and Special Agent for the 44th criminal investigation in Yokohoma, Japan. He was honorably discharged as Sergeant on July 21, 1948. Thomas then went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Monmouth College in IL; that is where he met the love of his life, Gloria Ann Johnson. On October 27, 1951 they married and settled into Brookfield, IL to raise a family of their own. Thomas went on to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Special Agent for five years in NYC. He then worked for several insurance companies before finding his niche at Walgreens as the Director of Loss Prevention. After retirement at age 67, Thomas and Gloria moved to South Carolina to enjoy the reward of their hard work and dedication for so many years. There, they learned about their love for golf and spent many days on the green together. In 2019, the happy couple decided it was time to be closer to family and they relocated to NJ.
Thomas was an attentive husband, reliable father, doting grandfather & great-grandfather, humble brother, and trustworthy friend. He truly was an extraordinary man; true salt of the earth. He will be sorely missed and forever treasured in our hearts.
He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Gloria, his son, Thomas, his parents, and his brother, James. Left to continue his legacy are his devoted children, Timothy J. (Jane) Feeheley and Karen (Dennis) Kebrdle; his loving daughter-in-law, Marcia Payne; his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Pye, Jackie (Michael) Doyle, Shannon (Jon) Rudd, Jenna (Steve) Kluxen, Michael Feeheley, Kelsey (Sid) Fowler, Caitlyn (Nick) Ollila, and Kelly (Nick) Van Blarcom; his treasured great-grandchildren, Kylie and Taylor Pye, Jamie, Eoin and Grace Rudd, Ryan Doyle, Adrian Fowler, Emery Ollila, and Beau Van Blarcom; his caring sister, Susan Preston; and many more extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 10 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville. Burial will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown. Memorial Donations are being accepted in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project by way of www.inmemof.org to ensure receipt of your donation. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Thomas here to continue to celebrate the incredible life he bestowed upon us.
