Obituary of Scott Patrick
Scott Patrick, beloved father, husband, and son, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 23, 2022, in the comfort of his home in Rockaway Borough. He was 50 years old.
Born in Livingston to Ted Patrick and the late Ingrid (Schurek) Kahnis, beloved wife of the late Ed Kahnis, Scott was raised in Lake Hiawatha and Morris Plains, surrounded by the German Shepherds he loved so much. He graduated from Whippany Park High School, Wildcat class of 1989.
It was his love for video gaming that led to a very successful career in the world of technology. Scott adored working with his Stryker family in Mahwah and currently held the position of IT and Audio Visual Specialist. He was a hard and dedicated worker and wonderful provider for his family. In November of 2002, Scott married his loving wife, Jennifer Faillace, who also shares the same birthday as his favorite hockey player, #66, Mario Lemieux. Together, they have raised 3 beautiful children: Devin, Kayla, and Sean.
An avid hockey fan, Scott loved the Pittsburgh Penguins and spent many nights watching their games with his children and 6 cats: Bear, C.C.. Blizzo, Meowzer, Misses Puttie, and Chicken. Scott had lots of other hobbies and interests. He adored animals and throwing darts. A talented dart enthusiast, Scott was a member of the Lake Hopatcong Darting Association which allowed him to play all over Morris County and surrounding areas and more importantly, make lasting friendships. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his children, watching movies and Dragon Ball Z. Scott also took great pleasure in blasting classic rock. He felt the music in his soul and wanted to share the experience with as many people as possible…and we all felt it.
Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his mother, grandfather, and other family members who went before. Scott will be forever missed and always remembered; nothing loved is ever lost, and he was loved so much. He leaves behind 50 years of lasting and cherished memories to his beautiful wife; his 3 beloved children and 6 cats; his grandmother, Winifred Schurek; his brother, David Rosen and spouse, Paul Reitz; his parents-in-law, Angelo and Mary Ann Faillace; his brothers-in-law, Joseph (AnnMarie) and Jeffrey (Meghan); his Aunt Diane Coates; his cousin Cheri Richman; and his loving network of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 3:00 PM at The First Presbyterian Church of Whippany, 494 NJ-10, Whippany, NJ 07981. Scott will be laid to rest privately at Hanover Cemetery in East Hanover. Memorial donations are being accepted in his memory by way of Go Fund Me to support his children’s education and at Catskills Animal Sanctuary to honor his love of animals.
Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Scott here to continue to celebrate the incredible life he bestowed upon us.
