Edna O. "Auntie" Sirianni
1918 - 2022
Obituary of Edna O. Sirianni
Edna O. Sirianni (formerly of Des Moines, IA and Yuma, AZ) passed away peacefully in the comfort of her niece’s home with her loving family by her side on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She had shared 103 years of unconditional love, laughter and unforgettable memories with family and friends.
Mrs. Sirianni was born in Calvin, OK, the daughter of the late Claude (1920) Hampton and the late Tommie (1990) Hampton Scott (Scotty). Edna graduated with her Sister Anglin from Allen High School in Allen, OK Class of 1939.
On June 12, 1943, Edna met and married the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) Sirianni in Yuma, AZ. It was shortly after that Tony was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, at which time they relocated to Des Moines, IA to be close to his family. Edna was his nurse and caregiver for over 35 years until he passed in 1978. Edna returned home to Yuma, AZ after he passed, and in 2000 she again relocated this time to New Jersey to be closer to her family.
Endearingly nicknamed “Auntie” by her Nieces and Nephews, the name stuck and she became everyone’s Auntie.
Aunt Edna was a phenomenal Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and friend. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is safe in Heaven with her Husband Tony, her Daughter Phyllis Jo, her parents, Sister, Anglin McDonald, and other family that has gone before her.
She leaves only joyful memories to her adored Nieces and Nephews, Gail McDonald Fauerbach, Neill E. McDonald, Jimmy Gardner, “Little” Tony Gardner, Theresa Allen and Karen “Denise” Bertrand. She is also survived by 20 great grand Nieces and Nephews, 41 great great grand Nieces and Nephews and 7 great, great, great Nieces and Nephews.
We would like to thank Atlantic Healthcare Hospice for the great care they provided over this difficult time, especially her wonderful Nurse, Mary, and her 2 aides Donna and Jenna. They are and will always have a place in our hearts and home.
Auntie will be laid to rest privately at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, AZ with her beloved husband and mother. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Auntie Edna here to continue to celebrate the incredible life she bestowed upon us.
