Obituary of Charles Richard Savite

Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Charles Richard Savite (Chuck) passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in Long Valley, NJ on February 1, 2022, at the age of 61.

Born in New London, CT, he grew up in Denville, NJ before moving to Long Valley, NJ 30 years ago with his wife.

He worked for various janitorial businesses for many years before creating Stars and Stripes in 2007 followed by American Services Group, which he owned and operated out of Long Valley, NJ.

Chuck loved to be outside doing yard work at his home. Whether it was cutting grass, landscaping, or building walls, he was in his element. Chuck was so talented in many different trades of life. He could build or fix just about anything and found much pride in doing all the work in both his own home and his children’s homes. He also loved freshwater fishing and spending time at the beach in Wildwood Crest. Another passion he had was playing softball, something he did both locally and nationally, playing with the Iron Horse softball team out of Ironia, NJ. In addition to his own sports career, Chuck spent his remaining free time going to his three children’s practices, games, or tournaments. He had so much pride and joy cheering, yelling and supporting his kids in everything they did.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Alda Lacerda Savite of Long Valley, NJ. He is also survived by his loving children Samantha Savite of San Diego, CA, Charles Savite of Long Valley, NJ and Gabriella Savite and her husband Mitchell Hivner of Hellertown, PA, as well as his sister Janice and her husband Tom Sann of San Francisco, CA, and his nephew Jack Sann also of San Francisco, CA.  We can not forget about his adoring Black Lab, Romeo.

Visitation will be held on Monday February 7, 2022, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. A Liturgy of Christian Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10:00AM at St. Mary’s Church 15 Myers Avenue Denville, NJ 07834.
