Obituary of Elizabeth Meloskie

Elizabeth Meloskie Port Jervis, NY

Elizabeth Meloskie passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10 am at St. Mary's RC Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville NJ.  For thse who are unable to join us, Mass will be livestreamed.  This link for St. Mary's will be active a few moments before 10 am on Friday. 

Born on August 10, 1952, Elizabeth was raised in Wharton, New Jersey. After graduating from St. Mary’s Elementary School in Wharton, Elizabeth attended Morris Hills Regional High School where she learned her profession as a beautician.  She continued her career at J.C. Penny as a beautician and a catalog supervisor for 14 years.  

Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Eleanor and John Meloskie.  She lived most of her later years in Sussex, New Jersey before moving to Port Jervis.  She was an outdoor enthusiast and loved being in nature, enjoying hikes along railroad beds, rivers, and parks.  She spent many enjoyable hours exploring the roads and paths at High Point State Park.  In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis, and snow skiing.  She was a gifted artist and enjoyed making home-made Christmas cards for her family. She had a green thumb and a keen eye that enabled her to created beautiful gardens.  She did not miss an opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren, and attended their school events whenever possible. 

Elizabeth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Melanie Poust and their children Evan and Kaitlyn of Wantage; her twin sister Maryann and husband Jeff; her sister Marie and husband August; her sister Helen and husband Raimund; her brother Gerald and wife Terry.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, her dear friend Bruce, and her newly adopted cat, Gabby.

Arrangements are being made by the Norman Dean Home For Services in Denville, NJ.  Visitation is private, with a celebration of life at a later date.
