Obituary of Paula Susan Rodriguez

Paula Susan Rodriguez passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Rockaway, NJ on Sunday, October 31, 2021 holding her devoted daughter’s hand. She shared 67 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, and priceless memories with family and friends.

Paula was born in Brooklyn to the late Paul and Josephine Gibaldi. After her schooling she married Mike Rodriguez and started a family of her own. She was blessed with two children, Erica and Paul.  They have been her constant source of joy since the day they were born.  

Paula was always the “cool” Mom and everyone knew it. She loved cars, especially fast ones and drove a Corvette for many years. She was over the moon when Erica dropped the keys to her Mustang in Mom’s lap as a casual Saturday gift. She has always loved horses and their immense stature and beauty. She was passionate about Texas, London, and Brooklyn- three places that held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed skeet shooting and Broadway shows, Neil Diamond and The Beatles. In her younger years, she was the quintessential “Disco Queen”. She loved to dance and go on great adventures always! Above all, her favorite times were with her family. 

Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing we have the greatest Guardian Angel watching out for us from Heaven.

She leaves only joyful memories to her husband, Mike Rodriguez; her children Erica Rodriguez and Paul Rodriguez (Michelle); her grand pup Mack; and many extended family and dear friends.

Public Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 4th from 5 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 5that 10 am at the funeral home. Mausoleum Entombment to follow at St John’s Cemetery, Middle Village, NY.
