Lt. Fondiller was always kind and helpful. I'll never forget his last day at work. He calmly placed his duty weapon and badge into an evidence locker. He wished me luck while staring at the locker. He closed the locker smiling, clearly reflecting on his career and looking forward to the future. We shook hands and he calmly walked out. A simple but emotional end to his 25 year career. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace... Bruce!

I was very fortunate last year to spend some time with Bruce while visiting with my great friend Lauren in Gloucester. He made us breakfast. It was lovely. We sat and talked while his dog ran around the apartment. I ate a lot of bacon. Bruce showed me his ham radio collection. He was a kind, gentle, loving soul who will be missed by his kind, gentle, loving family and friends.
Peace to all.

So sorry to read of your Dad's passing. He was always such a nice guy I'd see him grocery shopping when I worked at Grand Union and in his police car also. Cherish all the memories made through the years....May he rest in peace

Our family was so blesses to reconnect with Bruce when he moved to Massachusetts. Over the years, Gloucester had become the favorite destination for Bruce's children and grandchildren. His daughter, Lauren, and her husband, Ted, were always so loving and welcoming to family and friends, and living on the water was an added dividend! I have known Bruce for more years than I can recall, having known his first wife, Nonie, and her family since I was a young child. Both my mother and I were in their wedding party, and she and I "proudly" are godparents to two of their children. While Bruce was a dedicated police officer who was a lifelong radio and car enthusiast, his love of family was paramount in his life. I'll always remember Bruce at our family clambake on July 4, 2021, just three months ago, looking like a million bucks in an elegant suit and fedora. My other favorite memory is sitting at his Denville dining room table with wife Nonie, his four children, and J.J., my fiancé, eating delicious beef fondue, drinking wine and toasting to our lives together! Bruce was loved and admired by many, and lived life to the fullest!!! Lots of love to Lauren, Patrick, Nicole, Danielle and their families. xoxo, Jackie, J.J., Chelsea and Morgan Bell, and Dot Wayrynen

When I came on the Department in the 1970's Bruce was a young sergeant. As a member of his shift he was always a pleasure to work with. He was an excellent role model...honest, kind and encouraging. We often rode together on midnight shift where we had a lot of different conversations. We often talked about spiritual things and for several months Bruce came to my house for bible studies. Those were good times.
Bruce was a good friend. He was very giving of his time to help others. I remember him volunteering to work on my car in his garage and at one time did a complete new paint job on it! Cars and racing were his passion and he got time to pursue that more after retirement.
Sad to hear of his passing. My wife and I will miss him. RIP

As a young boy, I remember my father, a Denville Police Officer asking Bruce to come by our home to ask a question about something more technical than he knew the answer to. At one point, he said to me, "Bruce even knows how to fix 35mm cameras!" My dad was very impressed with Bruce as a young officer. And many years later, I too worked as an officer with Bruce at Denville Police. He was a cool and collected thinker and knew how to resolve any law enforcement situation that occurred. I had much respect for him. He'll be missed.

Our Sincerest condolences to all of you! Bruce was one of the most amazing men we've ever had the privilege to call our friend. We were more than neighbors we became family. The day he pulled out of the driveway to move back to his home we both knew we'd just lost a big price of our hearts. Sunday breakfast will never be the same for us! From Politics, Football, life, Cop talk and Death and the all knowing walking barometer! We knew when Mr. Bruce said "it's time to shutter up" it was the real deal a hurricane was coming!. May he soar high with those before him! Heaven gained another "Good guy". Much Love & Respect to you all.
