Just heard about Fran...she was my classmate at St. Simon Stock HS, class of 1962. She had a wonderful smile and was a very kind person. She will be missed by many,
Rest in peace, dear Fran!
Love and prayers,
Valerie Valerioti Golembiewski

I hadn't seen Fran on Facebook in ages and when I looked last evening I was shocked to see that she had passed away. We were always going to get together but it just never happened. Fran and I spent 12 years together at St. Simon Stock in the Bronx and she was one of my best friends during those years. She was a great dancer and a whiz at math, and we spent many hours on my porch playing board games and we also got into "good natured" trouble during those school years. Her Mom was great as was her grandmother, Mrs. Fitzgibbons. We had a lot of happy and fun memories and I am sad to learn that she has passed, but she is back with Gene and God. May she RIP and may you always have the great memories that I know she shared with all of you.

I was blessed to have “Mom” Fran Kelly as my next door neighbor during my childhood. She took me under her wing demonstrating the idea of “It takes a village to raise a child” long before the phrase was popular. She encouraged me, accepted me and understood me. She trusted me to be the babysitter for her beloved children, which helped me feel valued and important. Sometimes it felt like I lived at the Kelly’s house with the amount of time I spent there. Fran knew spending time with her children was a high priority and would put everything else aside to give the time and attention needed by each of her children. One special memory for me is how I enjoyed joining in the fun of playing board games with her and the kids as often as I could.
Fran was a wonderful role model for me. She modeled her Christian values authentically with her words and actions. She took on life’s challenges with a sense of humor and the common sense approach of acceptance. We always connected on a spiritual level. Passing on her 77th year of life is special because it is a number associated with Jesus Christ and perfection. I won’t be surprise if we start to see that number more often now as a “God wink” from the angels, letting us know she is doing just fine on the other side waiting until we meet again.
