Obituary of Donald J. Abrams
Donald J. Abrams passed away from a short illness at St. Clare’s Hospital on September 14, 2021, at the age of 83.
Born in Dover, NJ he grew up in Ledgewood, NJ and moved to Denville, NJ where he lived for the last 51 years.
Don worked as a manager at Strahman Valves in Florham Park, NJ for over 50 years before retiring in 2001. He loved to cook and when he was younger, he wanted to become a chef. In his younger years he also acted in several productions with Dover Little Theatre. Don was a member of the Denville Sr. Citizens. He also delivered Meals on Wheels, helped with the Denville food drive, volunteered at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, and worked at the St. Francis Garage sales. He also loved to take family day trips to wherever the car would bring him.
Don is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Ann Abrams (Parks) of Denville, NJ and his loving children Lisa Vanderhoof (Ken) of Parsippany, NJ and Brian Abrams of Califon, NJ.
He is also survived by his cherished grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Abrams and his sister Jane VonDerHeide of Hopatcong, NJ.
