Born in Paterson to the late Carmen and Catherine (nee Mania) Parisi, Joseph was one of two children to bless the family. When he was just sixteen years old he met Carole Ciulla. The two were friends and then started their courtship. They’ve been together ever since! After HS, Joseph joined the US Navy and proudly served our country. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home and set a date with Carole. They married on a beautiful day in 1960. They remained in Paterson for a short time and then settled in Lincoln Park to start a family of their own. Soon, Joe was the proud Dad to two little girls. He worked hard to provide a good life for his family. He retired from Magnetek after many years of dedicated service.
He loved golf and any day on the course was a great day. He was a loyal NY Giants fan, even when times were tough! He enjoyed fishing and the peace that came along with it. And Joe loved a good meal. He always enjoyed every bite and spending time with family and friends. After retirement he and Carole were fortunate to spend many beautiful years in Vero Beach. They made friends quickly as Joe was a social butterfly. He enjoyed playing pool with the fellas and lunch at the local American Legion. When his health started to decline he knew being closer to his girls and his grandsons was the place to be. His favorite title was “Pop Pop” and he loved being with his boys. He was caring and loving… stubborn and persistent. All of these things made him perfect. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and protecting us always.
He leaves beautiful memories to his wife Carole of 61 years; his daughters Lisa McGowan and Karen Lorenz (Thomas); his grandsons Kyle and Sean Lorenz; his sister Sarah Crioscenzo; brother in law Eugene Ciulla, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
