United States Army Honor Guard
Obituary of James W. Hart
James W. Hart passed away peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Abingdon Care & Rehabilitation Center in Green Brook Township. He had shared 73 years of unconditional love, laughter, and incredible memories with family and friends.
Born in New Hampshire, James was raised in Mountain Lakes to the late Richard and Dorothy Hart. After graduating from Mountain Lakes High School, he attended Military College in PA before proudly enlisting in the United States Army during Vietnam. James was a hero. Once returning home from war, he married the love of his life and best friend, Babbette. Together they settled in Jefferson Twp. to raise a son of their own. James was a dedicated husband and father and worked very hard to support his family. He made a very successful career as a Mechanic, eventually climbing up to the position of Sales Manager, most recently at Lakeland Auto Parts.
James was a talented artist, he enjoyed drawing. He had an amazing sense of humor and would give a stranger the shirt off of his back, literally and metaphorically. James was smart, determined, resilient, driven and considerate, kind, and compassionate. He loved all animals, especially dogs. He truly was one of a kind and will be sorely missed, yet forever treasured in our hearts and memories.
He leaves a lifetime of joyful memories to his adored son, Joseph W. Hart; his cherished grandchildren, Cristiana & Travis; his brothers, Jonathan & Richard Hart; his caring nieces, Emily & Kate Pardee; and other nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Memorial Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 16th from 6 - 8 pm at Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. Memorial Donations are being accepted in memory of James to either Paws and Stripes, 617 Truman St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory to continue to celebrate the phenomenal life that James endowed to us.
