Obituary of John W. Wisniewski
John W. Wisniewski passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was just a couple days shy of sharing 75 years of unconditional love, hard work, and knowledge with anyone lucky enough to have known him.
Born and raised in West Orange to the late Frank and Charlotte Wisniewski, he was one of two boys to bless their household. Growing up John was very active as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout and was a talented chess player. After graduating from West Orange High School, he went on to attend an auto-mechanic school before proudly serving our country in the United States Army National Guard for 25 years. John was a Medic & Mechanic for the National Guard and also a Mechanic for Norman Gale Buick GMC in Cedar Knolls. His passion was cars! Classic cars to be specific; he loved working on them, especially the 1960’s Pontiac GTOs.
John married the love of his life, Carolyn, on April 4, 1970 and they settled into Randolph to raise a family of their own. They had two boys and their sons and grandchildren were their pride and joy. Unfortunately, Carolyn passed in 1994; we are able to find solace in the fact that Mom and Dad are now reunited in Heaven. Other than family, John loved animals and cooking for his family. He will be sorely missed and forever remember and treasured in our hearts for generations to come.
He leaves only joyful memories to his loving sons, Kevin (Maryanne) and John J. Wisniewski; his cherished grandchildren, Kylie, Kurt, and Cal; his loyal cat, Chloe; and many more extended family and dear friends.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, April 19th at 11 am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of John here to continue to celebrate the incredible life he endowed to us.
