Obituary of Dolores Jean Jenkins
Dolores Jean Jenkins passed away at the Oaks in Denville, NJ on March 13, 2021, at the age of 89.
Dolores was born in her family home in Denville, NJ on October 6, 1931, to Harry and Pauline (Schwarz) Jenkins. She graduated from Mountain Lakes High School Class of 1949, and then graduated from the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Dolores worked as an executive secretary for Milliken Textile Company in New York City which would offer her the opportunity to travel all over the world. She lived in New York City’s Upper East Side for 57 years before moving back to Denville, NJ in 2016. She loved to travel and she loved to go shopping everywhere she would travel to. She also loved to snow ski, something she would do well into her 60’s.
Dolores was predeceased by her siblings Henry Jenkins formerly of Sparta, New Jersey,
And Robert Jenkins formerly of Cary, North Carolina.
She is survived by her Sister-in-law Helen Jenkins of Cary, North Carolina, and Sister-in-law Betty Jenkins of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, Nephew Kevin L. and his wife Susan Jenkins of Wantage, NJ and by her niece Brenda Schafer and her husband Jerry of Cary, North Carolina, nephew Brad Jenkins and his wife Barbara of Cary, North Carolina and niece Kathleen Paxton and husband bob of Montgomery, NY. She also leaves twelve great nieces and nephews and eighteen great, great nieces and nephews.
Dolores loved her family and cherished all family gatherings.
A memorial service will be held for Dolores at a date to be determined when it is safe to gather.
