I only had the pleasure of meeting Carl one time a few years back while visiting with Alf and his best friend Brian and his wife Joanne. I am Joanne's cousin. He came over to Alf's house every day that we were there and every day he came in smiling, laughing and talking a mile a minute! Joanne and I couldn't get a word in edgewise and if you know us you will know how much Carl was talking! He seemed like a happy soul. I know Alf truly loved his brother and will miss him terribly as he told me that himself. Carl, you were loved.

I was saddened to learn today of Carl's passing. Not too long ago I was in the area and decided to drive through the "old neighborhood". I drove past Carl's home and he was outside with a few people. He waved as I drove by. I know he didn't know who I was but that's the kind of neighborhood Lk. Telemark is. Friendly.
The family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May Carl rest in peace.

I have known Carl for as long as I can remember. He was a good friend to my dad, Jeff. He always brought with him such a positive energy & the room was always lively with him around. He gave me lots up upbringing advice while I was growing up.
I will miss him, but I will remember him. I send my condolences to his family. He loved talking about you.

Carl was close family friend and I have had the true honor to know him and love him for most of my life. He was my dad's "brother from another mother", as they liked to call one another. He had a very special relationship with my mom as well, serving as her partner-in-crime with home reno projects kept secret from my dad. I worked side-by-side with him and Alex on my parents' home. He was talented, kind, patient, loving, and thoughtful. I babysat for his kids, Melissa and CJ. Carl truly lit up whenever talking about his kids, and now his grandson. Those striking blue eyes would gleam and a smile would erupt on his face. It was clear to all that being a father was his true love in life. I cannot imagine how much he will be missed by his family. He was simply one of the greats. I have many fond memories of Carl that I will cherish forever. My deepest condolences to Melissa, CJ, his brothers, and his whole family.

I was very saddened to hear of Carl's passing. Had a lot of great times with him and, Alex, Roy and his other Brother Alf. Playing Basketball was the thing back then. They were good times.
I also ran into Carl a few times over the years on various construction jobs. Make no mistake about it? He was an exceptional carpenter. He did his Father proud. You'll be sorely missed old friend. My heart and prayers go out to the entire Abrahamsen family. _/|\_

I send my sincere sympathy to all of the Abrahamsen family, special cousins to the Egeland family in the older days of Telemark history. Carl was a light of warmth and friendliness to all, always making everyone he met feel his heartfelt interest in them. Sharing our childhoods in the 60's and 70's was consistently an adventure, always fun. Even as a young boy, he was just the sweetest person. Carl's smile and generosity are memories I recall with appreciation and am so glad I knew. I wish you all God's peace and strength to carry on. I am so sorry for this deep loss. "Med dypeste medfolelse" Love to you, Turid

Carl was always a friendly face to see across the street! ( My husband Luke grew up here, and we bought the house from Luke's parents when they moved) Always stopping to say Hello and a "How's everybody doing? good?" And he was such a nice "grandfather" figure for our 2 sons- always joking around with them, offering for them to use his basketball hoop, or to use his hill for sledding, sending Bailey the dog over to run around the yard with them. He will be missed. Sending warm thoughts and condolences to the whole family.
