Obituary of Robert Wood
"You can always tell where a beautiful soul has been by the tears and the smiles left behind."
Bob Wood passed peacefully at home following a valiant two year fight. He shared 64 years of love and memorable golf games with everyone he knew. He was a loving husband, a doting Dad, the greatest friend and the soon to be the proudest Grandpa this world has ever seen. In order to celebrate Bob and his fun loving life properly, the Wood Family will be holding a celebration post pandemic. Until then, we ask that you keep Bob and his family in your prayers and share your memories at www.normandean.com They will cherish them forever and share them with his grandson.
Bob was born on a spring day in 1956 to the late Stillman and Marjorie Wood. As a young boy, the family settled in Dover. He graduated Dover HS in 1975 and started his career servicing machinery. In 1987 he met Debra Woodhull and the rest was history. They fell in love, married and started their life together. Soon Bob was the proud Dad to a little girl. The sun rose and set on his daughter and he worked hard with Debbie to give her a wonderful life and a home filled with love. He started his business, Morris County Engraving 1989 and has been a constant source of quality products and creativity ever since. In his time away from work, Bob stayed active. He was a past member of the Lake Hopatcong Rotary Club, he was a founding member of the Lake Hopatcong Darting Association and a lifetime member of the Hilltop Athletic Club. He was a member of golf clubs through the years, with Black Oak being his “home away from home”. Bob loved to golf. Any day, with any one, he could be found on the course.
He was passionate about life and his family and was genuinely a great man. He would give you the shirt off his back and had friends everywhere. He was larger than life and had a way about him that drew people near him. Although we are broken hearted by his passing, we know his lively spirit will never leave us.
He leaves joyful memories to his wife Debra of 32 years; his daughter Jenna Dean (Travis); his already spoiled grandson on the way baby Jack; his loyal grand pup Lila; his sister in law Patricia Wood; brother in law Gary Woodhull (Joan); nieces and nephews Frank Wood, Dawn Acosta, Robert Wood, Tim Woodhull (Courtney), Katie Brudnicki (Mike) and Danny Woodhull; his great nieces Blake, Taylor Rehn, Claire and Mary; and so many dear friends and acquaintances.
“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom”
-Marcel Proust
