Obituary of Edgar Ned R. O'Leary III
Edgar “Ned” R. O’Leary III passed away peacefully in his favorite chair in the comfort of his home in Boonton on Thursday, November 19, 2020. He shared 59 years of love, laughter, and amazing memories with family and friends.
Born on May 5, 1961 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey to the late Nancy (White) and Edgar R. O’Leary, Jr., Ned was one of four children raised in Lake Forest, Jefferson Township and also Montville Township. During his time at Montville Township High School he excelled in football and lacrosse; he graduated Class of 1979. Ned then went on to further his education at Northeastern University, College of Business Administration in Boston, MA where upon graduation in 1984 he received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree. Ned’s most recent employment with Newbridge Services, Inc. of Pequannock, NJ found him assuming various responsibilities including but not limited to community residence manager, client transportation and courier between the various Newbridge facilities. A devout Roman Catholic, Ned was a dedicated member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Pequannock where he served as an Usher for many years. Besides watching and betting on professional sporting events Ned enjoyed operating his ham radio. A Hot Tuna fan, Ned was a laconic, smart, and athletic man. Although he was taken way too soon, we take comfort in knowing he now enjoys peace of mind in God’s mercy in Heaven.
He leaves many joyful memories to his adored loving siblings, Beth O'Leary and her husband Kevin Cassidy of Sussex County, NJ, William O'Leary and his wife Mary of Malibu, CA, and Amy Paris and her husband Douglas of Manasquan, NJ; his niece and nephew, Ryan and Rory; his devoted cousins and caregivers, James "Jim" Hoblitzell and his wife Susan of Montville, NJ and Michael J. White of Edison, NJ; and many other extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 23rd at 1:00 pm at Saint Pius X Church, 24 Changebridge Rd. Montville, NJ 07045. Walk-through Visitation will take place prior to Mass from 10 am - 12 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Memorial Donations are being accepted by way of www.inmemof.org to NewBridge Services, Inc. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Ned here to continue to celebrate the good times we will always cherish.
