Obituary of Carol Ann Nuse
Carol Ann Nuse passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. She shared 74 years of unconditional love and amazing memories with family and friends.
Born and raised in Kearny to the late Carmine and Gloria Barbieri (nee De Cerbo), Carol Ann was one of two children. After graduating from Kearny High School, Class of 1964, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus in English and History from Montclair State University, receiving the distinguished honors of Summa Cum Laude, Class of 1968. Carol Ann followed her passion and began her profession as a teacher for many years. She then selflessly put her career on hold to stay at home and raise her three beloved daughters. Family was everything to Carol Ann and it was evident in the close, tight knit relationship she had with her girls. She passed on many family traditions and invaluable life advice to her daughters that they, in turn, will pass on to their children. After taking time off to raise her family, she expanded her career into the health care industry where she would eventually become the Director of Credentialing at Bayada Home Health Care in Parsippany before retiring in 2016. Carol Ann’s most cherished title was being known as Nana to her eight grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Each with a special and unique relationship; the love shared between them was immeasurable.
Carol Ann took great pleasure in traveling and always looked forward to her annual trips to the Outer Banks and Myrtle Beach with her family each summer. An avid reader, she spent countless hours delving into novels as one of her preferred pastimes. She was an excellent baker; friends and family alike looked forward to her infamous Christmas cookies every holiday season. Carol Ann was a selfless and giving woman. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand and always put the needs of others before her own. Carol Ann will forever be missed and her legacy will live on for generations to come.
She leaves many joyful memories to her treasured daughters, Joanne Dispenziere and her husband Salvatore Dispenziere III, Jennifer Persson, and Cathryn Aspelund and her husband Joseph Aspelund, Sr.; her cherished grandchildren, Jenna, Sabrina, Ryan, Salvatore IV, Madelyn, Vincent, Victoria, and Joseph, Jr.; her caring brother, Joseph Barbieri and his wife Neva; her best friend and devoted caregiver, Kathleen Degnan; and many extended family and friends.
