Obituary of Larry Ellman

Please share a memory of Larry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Larry Ellman, 63, of Andover (formerly of Denville), NJ passed away on November 2nd.

Larry was born on October 3rd, 1957 to Thomas and Patricia (nee: Staebner). After graduating from Lake Park High School (IL) in 1975, he relocated to Denville, NJ, where he had spent many summers with his grandparents at their Cedar Lake home. Although he had originally planned on being an architect, he began working as a carpenter and founded his own general contracting company, Ellman Contractors, in 1982.

Larry raised his family in Denville, later moving to Rockaway, and lived most recently in Andover. He had a great love of all things outdoors, which he passed along to his children. Fishing trips and weekends camping together were fond memories that will forever be cherished by his family, along with Harley rides and boating on any body of water. He loved to travel, especially to somewhere warm. His large circle of friends could always count on him to lend a helping hand with home improvements, and he was known as an easy going and good natured man to have as a coworker or friend.

Larry is survived by his children, Jessica of Lake Mohawk, Sparta, NJ, and Brian of Denville, NJ; his parents, Thomas and Patricia, of Cresco, PA; his siblings John, Cindy (Bob) and Jim (Donna), as well as many other dear relatives and close, lifelong friends.

Due to the current Covid situation, a celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date. Please keep his family and friends in your prayers.
