Obituary of William Fersch

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William Fersch passed peacefully on September 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.  He was 70 years young.  Friends and relatives may visit on Saturday, October 24th from 2-4 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  A Service will begin at 4 o’clock that afternoon.  The service will be recorded as we understand not everyone will be able to be here with us. *Please click here to view Memorial Service.* Donations in his name may be made to the good work of Oakland First Squad, 285 Ramapo Valley Rd, Oakland NJ 07436 by way of www.inmemof.org.  Please share your memories here.  His family will cherish them forever.

Bill was born on June 9, 1950 to the late Herman and Ruth Fersch.  He was one of five children to bless the family.  After graduating Rutherford High in 1968 he headed off to Wagner College where he would earn his BS in Chemistry.  A year into college he drove north and attended Woodstock with somebuddies. Bill was a true hippie through and through.  He still had the original admission ticket.

He was passionate about his education having spent 2 years abroad in Medical School. He was a Mensa member and earned his MBA in Computer Science.

After college he started his career in pharmaceuticals. In 1987,he became a Dad.  This was his proudest role of all.  He loved watching his daughter Erica grow and bragged of her often all 33 years of her life.  When he wasn’t at work he loved to cheer on his beloved NY Yankees & NY Giants.  He believed much could be cured with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and some good chocolate.  Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and watching over his family from above.

He leaves his daughter Erica Fersch, his brother Edward Fersch(Kathy Berg), his sister Carolyn Healy (Kevin); his loyal canines Carina and Shelby; niece Alisa Fersch (Henry Adams), nephews Gabriel Fersch (Hazel) and Daniel Healy (Hannah), manyfriends and colleagues.  His brother Donald and sister Dorothy passed previously.
