Obituary of Richard Charles Wright

Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Richard Charles Wright passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, May 21, 2020. He shared 70 years of love, laughter, and cherished memories with family and friends.

Born and raised in New York City to the late Charles and Elizabeth Wright, he was one of two children to bless the Wright household. Richard was born with music in his soul; he met the love of his life while singing in the vocal choir at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Mountain Lakes. Rich and Connie were married on June 16, 1984. Together they eventually settled into the Village Green Apartments in Budd Lake with their Parakeets, Parrotlet, and Cockatiels. He loved his many years in service to his church, and singing and playing in the vocal and bell choirs. He enjoyed his trips to Showboat in Atlantic City with his father-in-law, Manfred “Manny“ Walther, and to Foxwoods Casino in CT to play Bingo. He loved caring for their garden, and conversing joyfully with his mother-in-law, Kathryn “Kitty” Walther. Although he was taken too soon, we take comfort in the many happy memories he leaves with us.

He entrusts his humorous and heartfelt memories to his beloved wife of 35 years, Connie; his precious step-children, Sonya Kulczyckyj, and David Kulczyckyj and his dear wife Jennifer; his darling step-granddaughter, Jocelyn Kulczyckyj; his treasured niece Teresa Bursa and her dear husband John, and his cherished nephew Anthony “Tony” Mazzucco and his dear wife Leslie; and many other extended family and friends.

All services will be private. Memorial Donations are being accepted to the American Heart Association by way of www.inmemof.org. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Richard here to continue to celebrate the life he shared with us.
