Many, many years have passed since I spent time with your lovely family, but as soon as I came upon this, I recognized your mother who always gave me the warmest welcome when I visited with Francine and Georgia. We all went to St. Joseph's School in Newton together and I think I visited your home in Morris Plains at least once. In 1962, Georgia and I were both mother's helpers in adjacent houses in White Meadow Lake and spent our afternoons together and I enjoyed her feistiness. I went back to live in the UK after graduating from Pope John XXIII H.S. and our paths never crossed again. Nonetheless, I have the fondest feelings for your parents and family and am grateful that Anne was able to live such a long, rich and happy life. A great achievement.
Fond regards,
Phillippa (Pip) Ewing

What a wonderful video! Your mother lived a life most people only aspire for. She lived life with gusto; as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. After my first interaction with your mother, it becomes clear where you inherited your outgoing personality, fabulous smile, and love of a really great party! I echo your belief that your mother is living it up with your father and other loved ones in the hereafter. No RIP for her!
With Love,
Dawn & Victor

In trying to find one word that describes Anne for me I think of 'Ageless'. Not having met her until she was quite in her prime, like around 89 years young, I was always amazed at how put together she was. I loved listening to her tell stories of her youth, even if she did embellish just a bit. Anne always had a twinkle in her eye and you could tell she was enjoying herself. She had quite a fondness for Santa at our annual Christmas Eve family celebrations too as is witnessed in this photo from 12/24/2013. Thank you Brett, Linda and Fran for sharing your Mom/Grandmother with my family and I. She will always hold a special place in my heart. Your slide show was a beautiful tribute and you have many memories to cherish.
Love, Karen

Anne lived a full and eventful life captured lovingly in words and photos shared by her family. She clearly enjoyed celebrations and I was pleased to share some of those with her over the years. Her great enthusiasm and energy, engaging smile and big personality in a petite package will be remembered. My sympathies to her family.

Our mother was a vivacious and fun-loving hot ticket and truly a force of nature. In her prime, she was quite a beauty and had many talents and interests, including singing, acting, dancing and socializing. She was a loving, nurturing and supportive daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She made countless friends over the years who remained her friends throughout their lives. She worked hard and played hard and never met a party she didn’t like.
Mom lived through all of the consequential periods and occurrences of the post WW1 20th century and the first two decades of the 21st century, narrowly missing the celebration of her 100th birthday by 40 days. Among the historical events that occurred during her lifetime were the Great Depression and subsequent economic crises and downturns; WW2; Cold War, the Sixties and Viet Nam War era; Moon Landing; fight for Civil Rights and Women’s Rights; the age of the computer and advancement of technology at warp speed; 9/11; and the first part of the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic.
In addition to her notable characteristics already mentioned, other admirable qualities were her unparalleled strength, determination, loyalty and devotion to her family. When our deceased sister, Georgia, was diagnosed with an extreme form of Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 10, she and our father did everything humanly possible to help her manage and live with the disease and have a normal childhood.
Undoubtedly, our sister's severe illness and death at the age of 27 caused our mother and father the biggest heartbreak of their lives. Notwithstanding the special attention that Georgia required, they were loving and involved parents while raising my sister Linda, brother Chris and me. They ensured that we had a happy family life with great memories along with many advantages to enable us to succeed as adults. After our sister’s death, Mom and Dad enjoyed their lives together as empty nesters and divided their time between Delray Beach and Atlantic City, socializing with and entertaining family and friends, enjoying their boat on the inter-coastal waterway, and traveling.
When our father was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the early 1980’s, he underwent several surgeries and related treatment. Sadly, in between and after his surgeries and treatments he continued to decline and had limited mobility when he was not in the hospital. Our mother had a hospital bed installed on the first floor of their Atlantic City home so that they could remain together for the last few years of his life.
Our mother was my rock and I absolutely would not have been able to attend and graduate from law school if she had not substantially assisted me in caring for and doting on my daughter, which created an unusually strong bond between them that they treasured.
After our dad’s death, Mom remained socially and physically active and adventurous. She traveled and biked until her eighties and loved to entertain, attend parties, play cards and participate in activities and outings with her friends. She continued to divide her time between her Delray Beach and Atlantic City, until she decided to permanently relocate to a condominium in Rockaway, NJ near my sister Linda's home in Denville. She was with us to celebrate every holiday and special occasion and reveled in her five grandchildren. Five and a half years ago she became a great-grandmother for the first time to Emily and since then she was able to meet, hold and take joy in three additional great-grandchildren -- Natalie, Alexandra and Charlie. She also was blessed with a fifth great grandchild, Chloe Anne, her namesake, born on January 7 of this year.
Mom, as Kate already has written, you are one of a kind and I was very fortunate to be your daughter. Thank you for all of the monumental things you did to help me along the way to the happy and fulfilled life that I enjoy with my wonderful husband, Denny, and our children, grandchildren and extended family. Instead of saying rest in peace, I wish you an eternal and active social life in heaven. I know that would be your preference.

my grandmother was one of a kind... always an amazing support and helped to raise me and i will forever be grateful to all she gave me.. some of my best memories of childhood was playing shuffleboard at her complex in del rey beach and seeing the manatees. I loved her more than words could every express. Forever in my heart.

Anne last year on your birthday I said you needed to live to be 100, well you missed it by about 40 days! I loved our conversations and how you always called Tom and I by different names, mostly Tom tho. I loved your sense of humor. I remember visiting you after your hip operations and sneaking Doc in under my coat to visit with you at the rehab facility. Then helping Linda and Linford and “Harry” paint your condo, even tho I don’t recall you lifting a paintbrush or even being there but we did it out of love for you and your family! You will be missed, RIP dear Anne. With love from Shirley AKA Sylvia
