Harvey was a unique and interesting person who was always fun to be with. We shared a Swedish heritage and a love of all things Swedish. We weren’t related, but our grandfathers were close friends and we both referred to the same people as aunt and uncle. My mother had a number of Lindstrom family pictures in her photo archives and she loved sharing them with Harvey. She thought he was a “riot.”
As the phrase goes, “he was one of those people for whom they broke the mold.”
I expect to be greeted by Harvey when I enter Valhalla.

I referred to Harvey to someone recently as a "Sandwall staple". He was more of an uncle to us than a family friend. He was ever present in my life- from the stories about him rocking me to sleep as an infant while he sang the Swedish national anthem to the wild "chopping wood" stories of him and my father in the woods on Crows Nest Road. As I became a young adult around the same time that Harvey retired, the Sandwalls would all get excited when he and Karen would arrive for a visit and a coke. I learned from him about culture, music, art. I was always intrigued by Harvey's nude modeling and pleasantly surprised by the viking ceremony that he performed for me and my siblings. I enjoyed seeing Swedish cultural events with him in NYC. I'm happy to remember the travel stories that he and my father shared as well as the experiences that we all had together in Sweden in 2010. I'm grateful that he contributed in my wedding day to Tim by helping us to chose music for the ceremony. We will miss Harvey's vibrant spirit that was truly larger than life. Sending you all much love and peace.

Sincere condolences to Jen, Andrew, Karen, and family. I was lucky enough to live next door to his daughter Jen when we were young, and fortunate that he made sure Jen and I stayed friends even after they moved out of Forest Lakes. I remember him picking me up and surprising Jen by taking me to their new house in Denville. I also remember him getting me my first "Cabbage Patch Kid" when there were none to be found anywhere and everyone else in the neighborhood had one. Oddly enough, I remember him chewing his soda. When I asked about it, he said matter of factly, "Of course. You have to chew the bubbles." Harvey was so full of personality. He always made me laugh.
