Obituary of Marlene Anna Rothe

Please share a memory of Marlene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marlene Anna Rothe passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at The Country Home in Morris Plains. She had shared 87 years of unconditional love, laughter, and amazing memories with family and friends.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in South Philly to the late Ernest and Anna Ressa, she was one of five children to bless the Ressa household. That is where she met the love of her life and true soulmate, Edward Rothe. They wed on June 15, 1952 and shared 30 years of joyous moments, raising their precious daughter in Croydon, PA until Eddie unfortunately passed on August 27, 1989. While in Pennsylvania, she was a member of the Italian American Club of Bensalem. When she wasn’t taking care of the household you could find her cooking a delicious meal, tending to her indoor plants, crocheting, on the lake fishing with her husband, listening to her favorite music, or dancing around with Eddie. A true caregiver, Marlene was an attentive wife, patient mother, doting grandmother, and loving great-grandmother. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Edward, her parents, and siblings, Johanna Sisto, Ernest Ressa, Jr., and Lana Parkinson.

She leaves only joyful memories to her adored daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Scott Warner; her cherished granddaughters, Tara Colalillo and her husband Christopher and Rachel Vukusic and her husband Niko; her treasured great-grandchildren, Adelaide Mae and Grant Warner Colalillo; her caring sister, Marie Salomone of South Philadelphia, PA; and extended family and friends.
