Obituary of Jean Marie Eckert
Jean Marie Eckert passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Boonton Care Center in Boonton Township. Just a few weeks shy of turning 99 years young, she had shared 98 years of unconditional love, laughter, and priceless memories with family and friends.
Born and raised in Manhattan to the late Bertil and Katherine Solheim, she was one of two children to bless the Solheim household. Jean married the love of her life, Edward, in the 40's; together they settled in New Jersey to raise their 5 children. A member of the Senior Citizen Boontonites, Jean was able to travel all over the world with her closest friends. A doting wife and attentive mother, Jean was the greatest Mom who taught us that laughter is the best medicine. She was amazing at making everyone giggle with her well delivered jokes. She was also an avid bowler. We will never forget her contagious smile and huge heart which will live on for generations to come. Although we are deeply saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Edward, her parents, and fallen hero and brother, William.
She leaves only joyful memories to her adored children, Bill Eckert, Chrys Eckert, Kathy Gunther, Jeanann Eckert, and Jill Chapman; and her cherished granddaughter, Nathalie Schantel.
All services will be private. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Jean’s memory by way of www.inmemof.org to the Atlantic Health System Hospice Care. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Jean here to continue to celebrate the life she shared with us.
