Obituary of Olga Lord

Please share a memory of Olga to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Olga Lord passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Morris View Healthcare Center in Morris Township. She had shared 89 years of unconditional love, laughter, and amazing memories with family, friends, and colleagues.

Born in New York, NY to the late Paul and Mary Dorishook, she was one of five children to bless the Dorishook household. She married the love of her life, Raymond Lord, and the rest is history. Together they settled in Parsippany to raise their family. She found her niche working as the Court Attendant for the Morris County Superior Court in Morristown. She worked for 20 years before retiring in 2007. Olga loved to vacation; her daughter, Suzann, was able to take her on many vacations throughout her lifetime including a visit to the Panama Canal. Her favorite place to visit was the Caribbean. She also had a deep appreciation for flowers and took great joy in gardening and yardwork. Above all else, her family came first in her life, furry four-legged babies included. Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Raymond, her siblings, and parents. We will always remember her holiday cookie baking, and delicious home-cooked meals.

She leaves only happy memories to her loving daughters, Suzann Lord Schaefer and her husband Michael of Parsippany and Mary Lewis and her husband Robert of Vero Beach, FL; her caring siblings, Irene Kissam and Robert Dorishook and his wife Bessie; her treasured cat, Lulu Belle; and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 7 - 9 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 21st at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pequest Union Cemetery, 30 Cemetery Road, Great Meadows, NJ. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Olga here to continue to celebrate the life she shared with us.
