Obituary of Anna H. Palmisano

Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna Helen Palmisano passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Chatham Hills Care Center. She shared over a century of love, laughter, and priceless memories with her dear family and friends. Born in Irvington to the late Everett and Elonia Campbell, she was the oldest of four children to bless the Campbell household. Anna was raised in Newark and began working age 16 to contribute to her household. She was married over 35 years to her loving husband, Harry S. Palmisano. Together they settled in Irvington to raise their family. Anna’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her loved ones. She enjoyed summer vacations to Saratoga Springs, NY and in Fort Lauderdale, FL, to name a few. Above anything else, her children and grandchildren were always her first priority. She made sure to always make them feel loved unconditionally and keep them well fed with delicious treats. In her spare time, she loved her casino trips and enjoyed playing Bingo. Along with her husband Harry, they enjoyed visiting the racetrack to watch the horse races. Anna was a member of the Springfield Seniors Group and the Women’s Auxiliary when Harry was the Commander of The Disabled American Veterans organization in Irvington. We will never forget her sense of humor, classy style, and the way she always put her family first. Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing Anna is now reunited with her beloved husband, Harry and her caring son, Daniel Everett Buckley. She leaves only joyful memories to her loving children, Mary Ann (the late Donald) Pizzi of Mendham, Elaine Hall of Springfield, and Lorraine (Rudy) Nemeth of Denville; her caring daughter-in-law, Kathleen Buckley; her cherished grandchildren, Donald Pizzi, Jeffrey (Kerri) Pizzi, Michael (Bridgett) Hall, Eric Nemeth, and Matthew (Lauren) Nemeth; her treasured great-grandchildren, Hannah, Amanda, KatieJo, Michael, and Liam; and many more extended family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville. In Anna’s memory, we kindly ask for a donation to the charity of your choice. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Anna here to continue to celebrate the life that she shared with us.
