Gilbert A. Johansen, 60, died at his home in Fayetteville, NC on Thursday Dec. 20, 2007.
Mr. Johansen was born in Jersey City, was a resident of Denville and later a resident of Fayetteville, NC. Mr. Johansen retired from a distinguished military career attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class in the US Army. He served during the Vietnam War as a Green Beret. After several years of working and attending college he re enlisted and was in Special Forces and retired in 2000.
His father Howard Johansen predeceased him.
His Mother Alice Johansen, his two sisters Nancy Schank and her husband William of Howell, MI and Phyllis Weisnet and her husband Joseph of Denville, NJ, and many nieces and nephews survive him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial services on Tuesday January 22, 2008 at 10:30am at the King of Kings Lutheran Church Rt 46 West Mountain Lakes, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
