Lenore Condit Barnish, 82, passed away after a short illness on Friday, December 7, 2007 in Denville. Predeceased by her husband, William F. Barnish and grandson, Christopher W. Barnish, Lenore was a life long resident of Denville. Born in 1925, in Jersey City, NJ, she moved to Denville in 1932. Raised on Edgewood Road, Lenore is a graduate of Trenton State Teachers College. After teaching in the Morristown School District, she married Bill and they raised four children on Openaki Road, Denville. In her lifetime, she was an active member in the community, serving on the Denville Juvenile Conference Committee. She was an active St. Clares Hospital volunteer for 42 years, and a St. Clares Harvest Festival volunteer for 30 years. She was also a member of the Denville Senior Citizen, Monday Group Member, and a parishioner of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church since its inception. In recent years, she lived at Franciscan Oaks in Denville and spent time enjoying her four children, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Lenore died 62 years to the day of when her beloved Bill returned from serving four years in the Navy during World War II. Their life together was built on raising their family and helping their community. They loved to travel and had a second home in Hobe Sound, Florida. Lenore is survived by her four children; Paul J. Barnish and his wife, Barbara of Hopatcong, Jeanette E. Barnish, Boonton Twp, Susan B. Banks and her husband, Dennis, of Denville, and Joan C. Barnish of Southbury, CT. She will also be terribly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Juliette M. Abadir, her husband, Michael and their children Justin and Grace, Mark J. Barnish, his wife, Libby and their children, Ryne, Lucy and Annie, Jeffrey T. Barnish and his wife, Sarah, Patrick V. Banks and his wife, Jennifer, Joan M. Bruseo, her husband, Darren and daughter, Abigail, Sean W. Banks and his wife, Danielle, Allison C. Banks, Kristin S. Banks, Joseph W. Melillo, Alexandra C. Melillo and Olivia R. Melillo.
