Obituary of Allen George Eckert

Allen George Eckert, 86, died on Tuesday September 4th 2007 at the Morris Hills Nursing Home, Morristown, NJ. Mr. Eckert was born and a long time resident of Bayonne, he was resident of Denville the last five years. Mr. Eckert honorably served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was employed as a Sales Engineer for Rosan Inc., Newport Ca. for 31 years retiring in 1990. Mr. Eckert was a faithful member of St. Henrys Church in Bayonne and St. Marys Church in Denville. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 33 of Bayonne and the Denville Senior Citizens Club, and the Rotary International and a volunteer at the Denville Museum. He was an avid Golfer and was a part time employee at the Pro Shop in Mt. Tabor Country Club. His wife Agnes in 2002 and his son Gary in 1996 predeceased Mr. Eckert. Mr. Eckerts son Eugene and his wife Lenore of Denville, his daughter in Law Maria of Laguna Hills, CA, his four grandsons, Colin, Ryan, Grant, and Blake, his brother, Eugene Eckert of Bayonne survive him. The funeral will be conducted from the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (light a candle in memory of Allen on web site), on Friday Sept. 7th at 9:00am for a 10:00am Liturgy of Christian Burial Service at St. Marys Church Denville, NJ. Committal and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday Sept.6th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Denville Museum Diamond Spring Road, Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated.
