Obituary of Albert Robert Lucas

Albert Robert Lucas, 87 died on Monday March 26, 2007 at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ. Mr. Lucas was born in Newark, NJ and grew up in West Paterson, NJ. He entered the US Navy on Jan. 18, 1939 and after a distinguished career of 24 years and serving during World War II and the Korean War he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. Lucas was a graduate of Montclair State College receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree, and received his Masters degree in Education. Mr. Lucas was an Industrial Arts teacher for 18 years at the Hopatcong High School retiring many years ago. Mr. Lucas volunteered at St. Clares Hospital for SHIP helping people thru the Medicare challenge, and RSVP helping people with income tax returns. Mr. Lucas was a recipient of the Morris County Living Treasure. For 59 years Mr. Lucas was the loving and devoted husband of Helen E. (nee Cinnamond) Lucas, he is survived by his two daughters Arlene and her husband John Martin of Wantage , NJ and Lee Ann and her husband Martin Mackin of Rockaway Borough, NJ and two granddaughters, Lindsay and Kelly. The funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com (light a candle in his memory) on Friday Mach 30th at 8:45am for a 10:00am Liturgy of Christian burial service at St. Cecilias Church. Interment services at St. Cecilias Cemetery. Relatives and friends will and received on Thursday March 29th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital Box 3407, Memphis, TN 38173-0704 would be appreciated.
