Reverend Dr. William J. Hausmann of Rockaway, NJ, formerly of Effort, PA and Harrison, NJ, passed away at his home on February 2, 2015.
Dr. Hausmann was born in the Bronx, NY in 1930 to William and Frieda (Strom) Hausmann.
He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis with a MDIV followed by STM, MA & PHD. He served as a missionary to the deaf followed by the Parish Ministry at St. John's Lutheran Church, Harrison, NJ. He retired in 1990 to PA and served as Interim Pastor on three occasions.
He was very dedicated to his family, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Trudi M. (Horlbeck) Hausmann of Rockaway, NJ and his loving children Susan (& Richard) Koeberle of Rockaway and Peter (& Michele) Hausmann of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, as well as his grandchildren Nicholas Galofaro, Christopher Hausmann, Alyssa Hausmann and Gregory Galofaro. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 5, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Services will begin at 8:30am on Friday February 6, at the funeral home, and then the family will receive friends at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior 675 Belmont Ave Mt. Pocono, PA. At 10:30am until services begin at 11am. Entombment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, PA.
